'Back to the Cuillins'
Easy access to the Cuillins makes this area very popular with climbers and walkers. Directly to the east the nearest peak is Sgurr Dearg, one of the Black Cuillins, standing at 986 meters. For those who prefer more leisurely pursuits there is a large beach of fine dark grey sand interspersed with small stones and mussel shells.
Skye's old airstrip was based here before the war and ran a shuttle service to and from Glasgow.
