KILBRIDE (Gaelic: Bridget's cell, church or chapel)
In Kilbride stands an impressive 8ft standing stone called 'Clach na h'annait' (Gaelic:stone of the chief/church). It is thought to have been part of a neolithic stone circle. There is also a well which is said to have the power to heal the sick.

TORRIN (Gaelic: Mounds)
This area provided quarry materials, most notably Skye Marble, which were exported widely. Marble from here is said to have been used in the the Vatican, Versailles Palace and Iona Abbey.
